Good morning, did you know its not just interns who use the centre? Students from all over the school come to use the facilities, yesterday I caught up with Rhys Tanner, the secretary for our sixth form student union;
Rhys often uses the centre for planning events and meetings – and at the beggining of the unions term in office, the green zone was used for a team building exercise – something
we all benefitted from!
“The union has really benefitted from the centre – it has helped us feel more professional and efficient as we work together with the student body. By having meetings here we are much more focussed and have clearer goals, the team building especially helped us bond and we now work well as a unit.”
It’s brilliant to see that students as wel as outside businesses are using the meeting facilities here – I asked Rhys what was next for the union;
“Well, we have quite a busy few months coming up – we are hoping to hold a referendum on a few issues that have been raised at recent council meetings. The planning for this is extensive as we need to plan around lessons and exams, the resources the centre provides will help enormously with that.”
Thanks to Rhys for that insight into the workings of the student union – its great to see the centre being used for multiple benefits! More from him coming soon, as well as updates from interns in the centre. Again – any questions, please dont hesitate to ask!
